COMSATS, through a notification
in 1997, setup the COMSATS
Institute of Information
Technology (CIIT), which
became functional in April
1998. CIIT is a world-class
teaching institute, creating
knowledge base and advance
technologies that are intended
to shape the new direction
of the country and educate
its future leaders for the
21st century.
The aim
of the Institute is to train
the country’s human
resource in the field of
Information Technology so
as to equip them with emerging
IT trends. The CIIT is fully
equipped to cope up with
the needs of growing and
fast-paced IT industry and
flexible enough to adapt
to the challenges of the
future. The CIIT has a mission
to deliver new ideas and
products through research,
development and education
in strategic partnership
with IT industry and organizations.
CIIT has
a total of five campuses
in the country, two in Islamabad
and, one each in Wah, Abbottabad
and Lahore.
Admission
Tests for CIIT
National Testing Service
(NTS) conducted Admission
Tests for CIIT at its
all campuses during July,
2002. The General
tests were conducted
for admissions at the
Graduate and Post-Graduate
levels for candidates
from different educational
backgrounds i.e. NAT-IS,
NAT-IIS, NAT-IG and NAT-IIG.
Plans are
underway now to conduct
NAT Tests for CIIT for its
Spring Session in early
2003.
