Prof. Dr. Raheel Qamar is a distinguished academic leader and scientist, holding position of Chairman of NTS Board of Directors. He is currently the Rector of COMSATS University Islamabad (CUI) and a Tenured Professor of Biochemistry & Molecular Biology.With an extensive background in research, governance, and higher education leadership, he has held several key positions at national and international institutions. As Chairman, he presided over NTS Board/General Meetings and provided strategic direction to strengthen the organization's governance and performance.
Prof. Dr. Raheel Qamar's vision, administrative expertise, and commitment to academic excellence continue to guide both COMSATS University and NTS toward sustained growth and innovation.
He is playing his role as Chairman BoD, NTS in all Board matters relevant to the Corporate Governance of the NTS. Being the Chairman of the Board, he ensures to consider the opinions / proposals of the Co. Directors. He is not just leading the Board but also providing the guidance and directions and approval as and when needed. He is also ensuring the Board's affective functioning and continues development.
Mr. Muhammad Azam (Director, NTS)
Mr. Muhammad Azam, the current Treasurer of COMSATS University, Islamabad (CUI) and holding position of Director, NTS having a rich and diverse career spanning over 25 years, marked by his remarkable contributions in various domains. His professional journey has seen him excel as the Head of Accounts and Audit Department at the Hydrocarbon Development Institute, as well as serving in the esteemed capacity of Senior Audit Officer with the Pakistan Military Accounts Department.Notably, Mr. Muhammad Azam is a highly regarded Member of the Board of Directors for the NTS. Within this role, he is leading as the Convener of the Audit & Risk Management and Procurement Committees of the BoD, displaying his proficiency in overseeing financial, internal audit functions and operational aspects/guidance. Furthermore, his commitment extends to being an integral Member of the Human Resources and the Nomination Committees of the Board, exemplifying his dedication to fostering excellence and accountability in the organization.
Prof. Dr. Sajjad Ahmad Madani (Director, NTS)
Dr. Sajjad Ahmad Madani, a distinguished Director at NTS Board, currently assumes the pivotal role of Controller of Examination at COMSATS University, Islamabad (CUI). His academic journey is a testament to his versatility, boasting a PhD in Engineering Sciences and an MSc in Computer Sciences. Dr. Madani's illustrious career encompasses notable positions, including Professor and Director at the prestigious Wah Campus, CUI, as well as the esteemed Professor/In-charge at the Virtual Campus, CUI.With an impressive career spanning approximately over 20 years, Dr. Sajjad Ahmad Madani has accumulated a wealth of experiences across various domains. His multifaceted contributions have significantly enriched the NTS, reinforcing its commitment to excellence and innovation. He holds a critical role as a Member within the Human Resources and Audit & Risk Management Committees of the Board.
Mr. Shoeb Ahmed (Independent Director, NTS)
Mr. Shoeb Ahmed holds the distinguished position of 'Independent Director' in compliance with the requirement under Public Sector Companies (Corporate Governance) Rules, 2013. The said Director initialy nominated by the Ministry of Science & Technology. He is a central figure within our esteemed Board and brings to the table over 20 years of invaluable industry expertise in the private sector. Mr. Shoeb Ahmed's pivotal role as the Managing Partner at Gulf Consultancy Services and Director at Gulf Trading Company exemplifies his wealth of experience.His contributions are of paramount importance to NTS. He is Convener to Nomination Committee, Member of Audit & Risk Management Committee and actively participates/playing his role in these Committees, thereby influencing decisions that safeguard NTS 's interests. His diverse experience and unwavering commitment to excellence position him as a driving force propelling NTS toward its continued success.
Mrs. Ameena Sohail (Independent Director, NTS)
Mrs. Ameena Sohail, a distinguished Member of the Board, fulfills the vital role as Independent Director required under the Public Sector Companies (Corporate Governance) Rules, 2013 and female representation, in compliance with Section 154 of the Companies Act, 2017, being a Public Interest Company. Presently, she holds the esteemed position of Senior Partner at Precision Advocates and Consultants, where her legal expertise shines.Her illustrious career includes a significant role as a "Regulatory Consultant" for the Power Distribution Program under USAID, as well as a notable tenure as a Member (Legal) in the Ministry of IT and Telecom. Additionally, Mrs. Ameena Sohail has served as the Legal Advisor for the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA), further demonstrating her deep engagement with regulatory and legal matters.
With a diverse educational background that includes an LLM in International Economic Law and an LLB in Sharia Law, Mrs. Ameena Sohail brings a wealth of knowledge and insight to NTS. Her guidance and direction play a pivotal role in shaping the organization's legal landscape, reflecting her unwavering commitment to legal excellence. Mrs. Ameena Sohail's contributions are of utmost significance as she serves as a Convener of the Human Resources Committee and Member of Nomination Committees of the Board.
Prof. Dr. M. Junaid Mughal (T.I.) (Director, NTS)
Dr. M. Junaid Mughal, a distinguished Professor at COMSATS University Islamabad and holding position of Director, NTS. He is a renowned engineering academic honored with the Tamgha-i-Imtiaz (2022). With a PhD from the University of Birmingham, he has held major leadership roles including Director CUI Attock Campus and Chairman, Electrical & Computer Engineering.A prolific researcher with multiple U.S. patents, a Springer book, and over 70 journal publications, he has significantly contributed to Pakistan's engineering education. Dr. Mughal also serves as an expert for national bodies such as PEC, HEC, and PCST, playing a key role in accreditation, policy development, and OBE training. His expertise and leadership continue to strengthen academic standards and technological advancement across the country.
He is playing active role in the Board meetings.
Dr. Fahim Ashraf Qureshi (Director, NTS)
Dr. Fahim Ashraf Qureshi, presently serving as the Registrar of COMSATS University Islamabad (CUI) and holding position of Director, NTS having over 20 years of distinguished experience in academic administration, research management, and innovation leadership. With a PhD from Washington State University (USA), he has held key roles at CUI, the Virtual University of Pakistan, and in international IP and technology transfer organizations.Dr. Fahim Ashraf Qureshi has led major national projects, supervised over 45 U.S. patents, and played a pivotal role in strengthening research commercialization, policy development, and university-industry collaboration in Pakistan. His broad expertise in STI policy, intellectual property, and institutional governance significantly contributes to the strategic direction of NTS.
